How To Change From Edge To Internet Explorer

In start you could search for Internet Explorer and pin the icon in Start, Taskbar and create a shortcut in Desktop.

In Default application, you may say Internet Explorer as your default browser.

What you do is close the Edge browser.  Then click the windows icon in the lower left corner.  Then search your files and you will see that IE 11 is still an app on your PC.  Open the old explorer and you can make the change to the settings.  You might want to pin the old IE to the taskbar so you don't have to search for it every time.

when I try to change I get the dreaded box that asks for my admin password!  Since I don't have one, and haven't been able to get any help in getting permission, I can't do much of anything!

Hi,

If you are using Edge and want to use IE11, click on the 3 dots at the upper right corner and select Open with Internet Explorer.

How to put an IE icon on the Desktop

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11-iewindows_10/ie11-in-windows-10-how-do-i-put-an-ie-icon-on-the/d9be6ac2-8bc0-41e5-acd5-287ac1171fdd

Other options:

Type Internet Explorer into the search box at the bottom of the screen. Find Internet Explorer in the list of results, right-click it to either  Pin to taskbar or Pin to Start.

To make IE the default browser:

Start button> Settings> System> left side menu, select Default Apps then select Set Defaults by App. Select Internet Explorer.

Click on magnifying glass next to start box, type ie11; the top highlighted box will be internet explorer, click on it. You should see ie on screen; now right click ie11 icon on (Taskbar) and select (pin to taskbar). Now right click on edge and select UNPIN from taskbar. That's all you need to do and your favorites and everything should be just like you left it.

Hope this help's someone
